Some people won’t like the fact that I started a business in part to become rich. But here’s the facts* —
1: 60-70% of all Americans with autism are unemployed.
2: Autism has the lowest employment among disability groups.
3: High-functioning individuals are just as likely to be low income and recieve public assistance as folks with more disruptive symptoms and those with physical and other disabilities.
4: It’s f*cking unfair.
5: Haters can f*ck off.

I have had one truly meaningful, full time long-term job in my entire career and that was working for Vania Schlogel at her fund Atwater Capital. Everything else was part time, contract, or a startup I started. I owe so much gratitude for her for taking a chance and giving me an opportunity to grow.
With that said, since I’m not a 10x dev, my only consistent option for breaking out of underemployment has been to start businesses, so I did just that, and did it at least 7 times before I started Catenactio based on my experiences with Atwater.
My constant belief is that the greatest investment you can make in your life is in people; through the act of making an impact in the lives of others. I believe this is the one investment class that will truly make me rich. Therefore I hope to make my company’s mission a reflection of this.
Catenactio’s mission is:
1. Treat People Well,
2. Create Incredible Technology;
3. In That Order.
So if doing that makes me rich, and it makes you mad, then I’m not really sure what your morals & values are; but you’re welcome to get ignored in the comments. 🤷
